Fields and Stations

Creative direction and graphic design for new travel magazine.

Fields and Stations is a travel magazine “more interested in the world than in hotel and spa openings, one invested in culture but not “authenticity”, one dedicated to providing a home for the passion projects of very good travel writers.”

I collaborated on the magazine’s visual direction from the start. Along with the creator and editor Alex Robertson Textor, we decided on the graphic direction and I created and implemented the overall design of the publication.

My goal was to create a light, pleasant printed project where the content (text and photos) spoke for themselves. The graphic design is clean but with it’s own personality, complementing the content, not overpowering it.

Fields and Stations was features in Monocle’s podcast The Stack. Me and Alex talk about the magazine, design and more. Listen to it here.
